Welcome and thank you for visiting the City of Bulverde Municipal Court page.
If you were issued a citation by a Bulverde Police Officer, you are scheduled to appear on the date stated on your citation. The following is information regarding citations and court appearances.
- Please allow 3 business days after receiving your citation before contacting the court.
- The court will only address citation details and accept payments from the individual the citation was issued to.
Court Hearings
All upcoming court dates can be found on the city’s calendar.
Court days are typically the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month (excluding holidays).

Check-In Starts at 8:30 AM.
Seating is very limited. Only those scheduled to appear will be allowed into the courtroom.
Anyone under the age of 17 MUST appear in person, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
DRESS CODE:
- Hats, shorts, cutoff T-shirts, and tank tops are not permitted.
- Please come dressed appropriately.
**No phone calls will be accepted when court is in session**
Reset Requests
- Resets can only be requested for the INITIAL court appearance.
- You MUST email the court for a reset request. Court Email: court@bulverdetx.gov
- Please allow up to 3 business days for the court to respond.
Payment Information
Payments can be made in person at the City Hall building, online, or by mail. Additionally, a 24-hour drop box is available at the City Hall building, to the right of the front doors. Payments CANNOT be made by phone.
*Note: The court will only receive payment from the individual who received the citation.
- Credit or Debit card transactions will be charged a processing fee of 3.75% with a $2.50 minimum charge.
- Money Orders or Cashier's Checks must be made payable to: City of Bulverde.

- We DO NOT accept Personal Checks or Tap payments (Apple Pay, Cash App, etc).

Payment Plans
To apply for a payment plan, you MUST appear in person. No exceptions will be made.
* Payment plans for WARRANTS are NOT permitted unless authorized by the judge.
Dismissals
Several violations are eligible for dismissal BEFORE your scheduled court date, with proof of compliance.
You MUST present proof of compliance and identification to the court.
The court will only receive proof from the individual who received the citation.
Below is a list of some of the dismissible violations and the associated dismissal fees:
- Expired Registration: Provide proof of renewal document or sticker = $20.00 fee
- Expired Driver's License: Provide proof of renewed driver’s license or temporary license along with old license = $20.00 fee
- Fail To Change Address: Provide updated driver’s license or temporary license along with old license = $20.00 fee
- Fail To Display Driver's License: Provide Proof of a valid driver’s license = $10.00 fee
- No Driver's License: Provide Proof of a valid driver’s license = $10.00 fee
- Defective Equipment (tint, lights, wrong/unclean plate):
- Corrected and verified by a BPD officer = $10.00 fee
- Fail To Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Proof of Insurance):
**IF you purchased or reactivated insurance AFTER the stop, the violation will NOT be dismissed.
1ST
- Provide valid insurance covering the VEHICLE on the date/time the citation was issued
OR - Provide valid insurance covering the PERSON on the date/time the citation was issued.
2ND
- The court will contact the company and verify the insurance was active at the time of the stop = $0 fee
Driver’s Safety Course (DSC)
Do NOT take a course or pay the citation before receiving approval and instructions.
With a plea of guilty or nolo contendere (no contest), you may request permission to take a driving safety course. This option ensures the violation won't appear on the driving record if completed correctly and on time.
You may be eligible to request this course IF:
- You have a valid Texas driver’s license OR current active duty military personnel with valid ID
- Insurance in your name or listed as a driver on the policy. It cannot be corporate or fleet insurance.
- You have NOT taken a course in 12 months prior to the request.
- Your citation is for speeding 24 mph over the limit or less.
- You do not have a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- A traffic violation committed in a construction zone with NO workers present.
You are NOT eligible to request this course if:
- Your citation is for speeding 25 mph over the limit or more
- Your citation is for Failure to give information at an accident.
- Your citation is for Leaving the scene of an accident.
- Your citation is for Passing a school bus.
- A traffic violation committed in a construction zone WITH workers present.
- Your citation is not for a moving violation.
How To Request DSC
In Person, bring the following:
- Valid Texas driver’s license or valid military ID
- Current insurance card with the defendant listed as a driver
- Payment = $144 or $169 if in a school zone
- Note: We DO NOT accept Personal Checks or Tap payments.
By Email, submit the following:
- Valid Texas driver’s license or valid military ID
- Current insurance card with the defendant listed as a driver
- Notarized Application for Defensive Driving (link here)

Deferred Disposition
Do NOT pay the citation before receiving approval and instructions.
You can apply for the deferral option anytime before your scheduled court appearance. With a plea of guilty or nolo contendere (no contest), you may request a Deferred Disposition (Probation). A Deferred Disposition Order requires the defendant to adhere to specific terms and conditions. If ALL terms of the deferral are upheld, this option ensures the violation won't appear on the driving record.
- Moving violations= deferral period of90 days
- Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (no insurance) violations= deferral period of180 days
You may be eligible to request the deferral option if:
- You have a valid ID
- Your citation is for speeding 24 mph over the limit or less.
- You do not have a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- A traffic violation committed in a construction zone with NO workers present.
- You have valid insurance with the defendant listed on the policy
You are NOT eligible to request the deferral option if:
- Your citation is for speeding 25 mph over the limit or more
- Your citation is for Failure to give information at an accident.
- Your citation is for Leaving the scene of an accident.
- Your citation is for Passing a school bus.
- A traffic violation committed in a construction zone WITH workers present.
*Note: If you’re under the age of 25 and requesting a deferred disposition for a moving violation, you WILL be required to take a driver’s safety course as part of the terms.
How To Request Deferred Disposition
In Person, bring the following:
- Valid ID or License
- Payment = the cost of the ticket plus an additional $50
- Note: We DO NOT accept Personal Checks or Tap payments.
- *No Insurance violations = provide current insurance with the defendant listed on the policy.
By Email, submit the following:
- Valid ID or License
- Signed and completed Deferred Disposition Application (link here)
- *No Insurance violations = provide current insurance with the defendant listed on the policy.

Warrant Information

Payment plans for WARRANTS are NOT permitted unless authorized by the judge. To appear before the judge, come in as a walk-in for any upcoming court date (see calendar here).
Warrants must be paid in FULL before any holds can be removed. Once the hold is removed, it takes about 24-48 hours to reflect on the DPS website.
