Our family moved to Bulverde in 1982 when what is now Rahe Bulverde Elementary was Bulverde's middle school. Our nearest neighbor was nearly a half mile away. My husband Carl and I bought Bulverde Feed & Seed in 1989; he has been a steady, quiet supporter of our community. I have been licensed as a realtor since 1986, enjoying introducing our vibrant area to others. I am a member of the RCCC and BAR-W and a representative of the Hill Country Neighborhood Coalition.
The changes as Bulverde has been discovered have been remarkable. As our city has developed our local economy has benefited. This has been exciting to see.
As platted subdivisions build out and new subdivisions come on line for development drainage issues have arisen. I have been involved with the Board of Oak Village North POA to initiate completion of a drainage survey by our residents with the goal of broadening its scope to identifying drainage concerns throughout our city.
In the recent past, I was appointed to develop a Flood Plain Committee in association with the City of Bulverde, Sarah Stevick, past mayor; to focus on effects of development on flood plain and resultant challenges to residents...2005-2007
It is important we work with Comal and surrounding counties to promote realistic efforts to improve drainage and find viable, long term solutions to a complex issue. I will work diligently to achieve this objective.
